Is it really free?

Yes. Writing, timeline, and search are free forever. Premium adds voice entry, lock, and advanced export.

Do I need an account?

No. No sign-up, no login, no email.

Where are my entries stored?

On your device only. Local Journal does not upload or sync entries to any servers.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. Text export is always free. PDF and JSON export are included with premium.

Is this a subscription?

No. Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Can you recover my entries if I delete the app or lose my phone?

No — because entries stay on your device, we don't have access to them and can't restore them. If you want a backup, use Export before deleting the app.

How does App Lock work?

If you enable app lock, Local Journal uses your device's existing PIN or biometrics. It doesn't create a separate password.
